I blogged a while ago about a Start A Startup camp, thats still in the planning / progress stage but today we (as in Dr. Tim and I) are announcing something a bit different;

HackNorth - A Northern Hack Day

We love hack days and the creativity they bring out in everyone, there’s nothing like 4:30 in the morning when the code breaks and half the team is asleep to bring out some.. erm… creative coding..

This has been on the cards for a very very VERY long time and we’ve seen well over 20 potential venues but finally our good friends at AQL stepped up and offered the use of an absolutely amazing building.

So keep the weekend of october the 3rd and 4th free, sign up to the mailing list to be informed when tickets are available and make sure you can follow the rules and follow the twitter account, named… you guessed it @hacknorth

I realised that I havn’t explained what a hackday is… well you attend, you have an idea, you work with a few other people on the same idea, you get fed and watered, you have 24 hours exactly to work on the idea and at the end of it your coding attempt is judged by our panel of judges who will give out amazing* prizes and all for the bargin price of Free (or £500 a ticket to be honest we havn’t decided on that bit yet)
