So heres the idea that’s been going round my head for a couple of months and I could pretty much pull it off if the intrest was there..
- 60 coders, designers, writers and general web geeks, split into teams of 6
- Given a room, a weekend, server resources, internet access and of course food and drink
- given 40 hours to design, develop, code and get to a usable stage a
- web app
- facebook app
- iphone app
- firefox extension
- anything really
- projects are demo’ed on the sunday to 5 local business owners who judge the best team, the winners get a prize,
- all team members get equal equality in whatever is developed
- OR everything developed will be opensourced…
what do you think? interest anyone?

Yep.
I would very much welcome this idea. It sounds similar to the sort of code-off that happened at Hackday the past two years, which I ought to have gone along to but never did.
I’m sure I could gather up a few other geeks for a team of my own, but I’ll be equally willing to pair up with people who I don’t know too well. Also if you need a hand with organising the whole thing I can spare some time and effort…
+1 From me, sounds like fun!
Would love to sit and build something potentially useful, and learn from the others in my team.
+1 from me as well, as Squiggle said it sounds very much like hackaday which sounded like something I’d be interested in taking part in.
