Bollocks to the slowdown at christmas, lets do a conference.. thats what my head said to me, so here it is…
I try and get to as many community events as possible, there are always talks on developing and designing, what technology you should be using, how easy it is to use GIT over subversion, how to deploy your great idea…
BUT WHATS NEXT
There is still this feeling of, if you build it… they will come, when the reality is… most of the time they won’t…
I’ve tried to put on a conference that people will learn from, I’ve asked people to speak who’ve done it, who’ve been at the coalface and know the problems with each area.
Its £30, there are several reasons for this, the first is I want as many people to go who can, We’ve got quite a few speakers from the A4UExpo and thats £450 a ticket… (but I enjoyed it)
We could have charged more and in all honesty if this one goes well and I do another, it will probably be more.
Tickets are limited to 100 (a, because its a mini conference and b, because of the venue itself) and we’ve sold just over half of them in less than a week.
If you’ve got a website, webapp, idea, want to blog, learn to write content, make some bloody money…
come to the conference, I hope you will get something out of it.
