The genius bar, is one of the best tech support systems I’ve seen…
My mac arrived back this morning, with windows stickers attached and everything.
The experience of booking an appointment, being seen on time, speaking to someone who knew the problem, solution and was able to book it in without having to go through a system of commands and checkpoints was pretty impressive.
I’ve had problems with customer service in the past and there is no love lost between me and the mac but colour me impressed.
I was considering selling the mac and giving up the mac test and putting down to experience but I think this weekend might include a bit of bootcamp and windows 7
I still miss right click

you can get right-click on a Mac though… ? Just use a normal 2 button mouse. You might need to go into the system preferences to turn it on
Or do a 2 finger click and voila, right click.
WooT Apple might be worming their way into Dom’s heart. Yes Apple in store support is great imho too. They don’t talk down to ’silver surfer’ non geeks like me for a start. I get the impression that if the item is Apple & it’s still working they’ll do their best to help you sort it out.
Interestingly I’ve always found they are are happy to chat about my very extended relationship with their products (which goes back to Apple IIe days). This reminds me that way back then before there were UK Apple Stores the licensed importer/sellers we used were great Apple customer supporters, with regular ‘workshops’ about the products. I remember a session unveiling the delights of the Lisa!
I agree with Christiano’s blog, plus the buzz of having help & support right in the middle of the Sales area makes it easier for any customer to express their ignorance about the products to the Sales Staff without looking foolish.
Also, something else which impresses me on my visits to Apple Stores, the crowds of school age girls using and delighting over the products – not usually noted on the odd occasion I pass by a Windoz retailer.
