Using a Laptop as a second monitor

November 12th, 2009

So I’ve finally got the new desk sorted in the office and everything hooked up, its taken a while to put everything together and get it working.

A Windows PC, A Mac (running windows 7) and a netbook, all controlled by a single keyboard and mouse, it took a little getting used to and set up but now I have Synergy working, it all runs pretty sweet.

To get it working I used both Synergy+ and QSynergy as a frontend GUI, this allows me to use the laptops almost as extra monitors and copy and paste between the machines..

I’ve actually been doing exactly the same thing this week! I have my new Mac Mini but I still need to get a second monitor, hence the laptop :D

spooky – same, monitor, same macbookpro, same screwdriver, same (old) phone. same toilet roll – but less dust – could be my office ;)
