Today Heather and I spent over an hour fixing a bug that at the end of the day, didn’t exist.
Geekery.in shows the local events to you based on your i.p. address, whilst at PHPNW we noticed that the homepage still showed the events for Leeds… PHPNW is in Manchester.
So we went through the code, checked that we wern’t overwriting the ip address (we have a couple of settings for the code if it runs on localhost). checked the external ip, and ran everything two or three times.
I took a shot in the dark and ip2location’ed the ip address we were on…It tracked back to Leeds…
FFS!
